For 30 years, Donna has worked as a freelance communications consultant, spearheading projects of all sizes and complexity for small business clients and senior Fortune 500 managers.
After leaving her position as General Manager at World Courier Canada, she joined CCL Consultech, a consulting firm specializing in government grant and venture capital procurement for Canadian industry. Here, as Director of Operations, she oversaw more than $1 billion of work in progress, working with clients such as Johnson & Johnson and Smith & Nephew and attaining a capitalization success rate of over 90%.
Going solo in 1989, Donna assumed an independent communications role for World Courier’s global management team, developing synchronized top-down marketing content for offices in 50 countries working with stakeholders across the globe. She also delivered a turnkey internal staff magazine, Window on World, which she published for 28 years while simultaneously working with diverse clients in the financial, educational, pharmaceutical, industrial and not-for-profit sectors.
Among multiple projects for Royal Bank of Canada, for instance, she was the primary content developer for a $2.5 million Retail Banking consumer education series entitled Your Money Matters as well as providing communications support for Investor Relations during the Bank’s 1993 acquisition of Royal Trust. At Montreal’s McGill University, she devised and led the communications campaign that launched the Faculty of Management’s newly conceived BCom and MBA programs including Dr. Henry Mintzberg’s groundbreaking International Masters Program for Managers (IMPM) which revolutionized executive management education. She was named the first Executive Director of the non-profit Vermont Horse-Assisted Therapy (VHAT) in 2013, quadrupling revenue in just three years through cost-effective communications and outreach aimed at developing lasting ties with the community.
Holding an MBA in Finance and International Business from McGill University, Donna currently resides in Point Roberts, Washington.
